Back home, getting a crush on a girl wouldn't ever lead anywhere because I had no way of knowing whether she would be gay or not.
And it wasn't really worth the risk to ask.
[ She had been so hopeful about Vickie, but then there was the boyfriend... But they broke up! So maybe Robin had a chance...? Anyway, Vickie isn't worth getting hung up over when Robin will likely never see her again. Best to move on. ]
